There have been many bug fixes and features added since the last alpha release of mosforms (0.4a_6). Whilst the next version is not quite ready, it may be beneficial for those of you experiencing problems to checkout the code from the SVN on Joomal Forge. Below is a little tutorial on how to do this using Tortoise SVN: First of all go to http://forge.joomla.org/ and create a user account if you don't have one already. Next download Tortoise SVN from here Then create a new folder on your hard drive where you want to save the SVN files. Right click on this folder and select "SVN Checkout..." Enter "http://scm.joomla.org/svn/repos/mosforms/trunk" as the "URL of repository" Press OK You may be prompted for a user name and password here, if so use the ones from your Joomla Forge account. All the current mosforms files will now start to be downloaded into your new folder. You'll notice that the folder's icon now includes a green tick. This indicates that all the SVN files are current. If a new file is added to the repository or an existing file changed then this will turn into a red exclaimation mark. Updating to the current files simply requires you to right click on the folder and select "SVN Update" The SVN contains a folder called "administrator" - this contains all the files that go in your web sites /administrator/components/com_mosforms/ folder. All other files will go in /components/com_mosforms. To install the SVN files as a component, copy all of the files in the "administrator" folder and paste them into the folder above. Then simply create a zip out of the new folder and install it as a new component. If you want to keep your existing mosforms install then you can overwrite your old files with the ones contained in the SVN, but be aware that there have been some database changes, so you'll need to compare the XML install file of your current version with that of the SVN version. |
